Metabolic Reset Programme
Have you been diagnosed with high blood sugar or abnormal cholesterol levels? Do you have high blood pressure? Are you overweight or struggling with hormonal issues such as polycystic ovarian syndrome?
In mainstream medicine these conditions are treated as separate entities with condition-specific treatment protocols, but did you know that they share the same root cause and drivers? They are all lifestyle conditions caused by metabolic imbalances.
The Metabolic Reset Programme takes a functional medicine approach to the prevention and management of these conditions. We look upstream to identify the drivers of metabolic imbalance. We then help you take back control of your health by addressing these drivers, and giving you all the knowledge and tools you need to optimise your lifestyle and turn your health around.

Who is this programme for?
Have you been told you’re on the path to diabetes? Or worse yet, have you been diagnosed with diabetes?
The Metabolic Reset Programme can help manage and prevent the onset of diabetes by addressing the root-cause of your rising insulin levels.
The first sign of a metabolism in trouble is a rising insulin level, and we can diagnose this up to 10 years before you develop diabetes. If left unchecked it will progress to insulin resistance and only then will your blood glucose levels start to rise and you will be diagnosed with pre-diabetes.
No matter what your downstream diagnosis is, they are driven by the same imbalances: nutrient-poor-energy-dense-diet, chronic stress, an inflammatory lifestyle, gut dysbiosis and inflammation.
Diabetes medications can control your blood sugar level, but it doesn’t address these drivers.
Contrary to what you may have been told, diabetes is reversible. It is possible to get off your insulin, to reduce or even to stop your medications and to have a healthy blood sugar level.
Through the Metabolic Reset Programme, these metabolic imbalances can be restored and the process can be reversed.
“Genetics load the gun, lifestyle pulls the trigger”
Have you been told your cholesterol is too high or do you have a family history of heart disease?
The Metabolic Reset Programme can help management and prevent the adverse impacts of high cholesterol by restoring metabolic balance.
Did you know, high cholesterol is not caused by too much fat in the diet? Recent studies have shown that is in fact caused by too much sugar and processed carbohydrates and that it has the same underlying driver as diabetes – insulin resistance.
Mainstream medicine has a very limited view and approach to diagnosing and treating high cholesterol.
The standard cholesterol screening tests do not give you the full picture of your cholesterol health. They don’t separate the weight of the harmful small, dense cholesterol-filled proteins from that of the larger fluffy more benign cholesterol-filed proteins. In fact, a ‘normal’ LDL may not be healthy at all and a high LDL may, it turns out, not be unhealthy.
Despite high cholesterol being blamed for majority of heart attacks, surprising nearly 50% of patients who present with a heart attack don’t actually have high cholesterol.
So what’s going on? Inflammation. The presence of inflammation caused by metabolic imbalances is a far more accurate predictor of cardiac risk.
Optimal health requires a healthy metabolism, not only a cholesterol level in the normal range.
Hormonal imbalances show up as PCOS, endometriosis, acne, heavy painful periods and peri-menopausal symptoms.
The Metabolic Reset Progamme can help to restore hormonal balance
Metabolic imbalance, presenting as persistently high insulin levels and insulin resistance, contributes to higher androgen levels (including testosterone) and estrogen dominance. By restoring insulin sensitivity and reducing circulating insulin levels, these hormonal imbalances can be reset. The outcome will be one step closer to optimal health and wellbeing, with improved acne and period symptoms as an added bonus!
On the other hand, declining estrogen and testosterone levels associated with menopause cause a decline in insulin sensitivity and a change in fat distribution. This is a good time to pay attention to metabolic health as your body becomes less forgiving and your risk of heart disease and stroke increases. Bio-identical HRT is now available to help counter the effect of declining hormone levels.
Combined with a metabolic-supporting lifestyle and therapeutic nutrition, there is no reason not to age gracefully!
The older we get the harder it becomes to shift those extra kilograms. Even spending hours in the gym and eating hardly anything is not helping anymore. But imagine if you could loose weight without counting calories…. If you could drop a dress size and still enjoy food…
The Metabolic Reset Programme offers a no-calorie-counting, no-dieting approach to weight management.
Let’s debunk a few myths. Weight gain is not about an imbalance between energy in vs. energy out. Calories do matter, but not all calories are equal.
Weight gain is the result of a metabolism out of balance. Underlying drivers include gut dysbiosis, hormonal imbalances, inflammation, chronic stress, poor sleep, as well as genetic variations.
The key word is balance. Not eating enough will lower your metabolic set point and stop you from burning fat. Exercising too much can be inflammatory and can add the metabolic imbalance. Gaining muscle mass is as important as losing fat mass.
A healthy weight is not just about fitting into your clothes better, it is also about overall health and wellbeing. It is about a positive mindset. It is about energy. We can help you do this.

How does the programme work?
- You will be asked to complete a comprehensive medical and lifestyle questionnaire
- You will receive a referral for a comprehensive health screen (Medicare covered)
- You will be offered optional functional testing (out of pocket, cost not included in programme fee) to help us identify your unique triggers and drivers
- Gut microbiome mapping
- Organic acid testing
- As part of your treatment plan, you will receive a completed timeline and functional medicine matrix depicting the interconnectivity between your symptoms and the 8 functional nodes
- After your initial 60-minute session with a GP, and once we have received the results of your health screen, you will receive a preliminary management plan to get you going.
- This plan will be reviewed and adjusted after your first 30-min GP review session, and once we have received the results of your functional tests.
- Some participants may meet the criteria for medicinal cannabis as a plant-based pain relieving medicine. Sessions for this can be added to the programme.
The programme is implemented in three phases:
I. Setting the stage – preparation
While we gather as much information as we can, your responsibilities start with implementing a 4- week detox/ elimination diet to reset your gut and your immune system, and to identify any specific food triggers. You will have access to a 4-week meal plan to help you navigate your way through the elimination diet. Premium participants will have access to our food coach for more strategies and tips.
Having a mindset that works with us, rather than against us is essential if we want to make lasting changes. Standard programme participants are given access to the Resilience 101 educational module. Premium participants have 3 sessions with our clinical psychologist, in addition to the educational module, to help you master your mindset, and learn how to manage stress constructively.
II. Making it happen – implementing your plan
This is where the adventure starts, and you get to implement your own management plan, which includes lifestyle interventions as well as a therapeutic food plan. Premium participants will have ongoing input from our food coach.
You will also receive access to the Lifestyle Foundations educational modules
III. Making it last – maintenance beyond the programme
We work with you to review progress, troubleshoot and tweak your plan to make sure that what you’ve learned can be incorporated into your lifestyle for life-long health and wellbeing.
We provide you with the knowledge and tools you need to not only implement your plan, but to incorporate it into your lifestyle:
- Weekly meal plans
- Food coach support
- Psychological support (mindset, stress management strategies)
- Small group support
- Weekly webinars
- Education

What is metabolic health?
Metabolism refers to all the processes involved in converting food energy into cellular energy. Essentially, it starts with our choice of foods we eat, and includes gut health, digestion, nutrient absorption, glucose and fat metabolism.
Every cell in our body requires energy to perform a multitude of functions that keep us alive. A metabolically healthy person consumes the right amounts of the right types of food energy, is able to efficiently convert this food energy into ATP, the energy currency cells require, is able to store the right amount of energy in the right places, and is able to efficiently use this energy as and when required.
Metabolic health refers to optimal insulin sensitivity, a healthy gut and normal glucose and fat metabolism.
